Cantor Adkins Functional Medicine (CAFM) is a Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition consultation service which uses the best available, cutting-edge evidence and the therapeutic relationship to help move patients towards a state of wellness.
Core imbalances, environmental influences and genetic predispositions are identified and reshaped through personalized dietary and lifestyle modifications, patient education and patient empowerment. Full educational and coaching support is provided to help patients achieve their vision of health. The aim of CAFM is to instill hope and enthusiasm in each patient for their evolution towards wellness that will allow them to live their life to its fullest potential.
Modalities Used
Cantor-Adkins Functional Medicine provides the diagnosis and holistic treatment of a variety of chronic diseases and clinical imbalances that may improve the patient's health, sense of well-being, quality of life and healthspan. This includes the taking of an extensive medical, environmental and lifestyle history and the use of the Functional Medicine Timeline and Matrix to organize the various system imbalances. A physical exam oriented towards nutritional findings is performed, and weight and body composition is monitored and followed using the InBody 570 bioelectrical impedence analysis (BIA) machine. A variety of functional and traditional laboratory testing looking at the genetic, biochemical, physiological and environmental factors that affect the patient's health are ordered as appropriate. All this information is collated and re-told back to the patient as the story of their health journey. Based on all this information and the patient's own goals for health, a detailed personalized plan for diet, sleep, exercise, lifestyle changes and nutritional and botanical supplementation is recommended. The patient is also be offered nutritional and wellness coaching sessions to facilitate their adherence to the program outlined.
Supplemental modalities offered include neurofeedback treatments using Clear Mind Center NeuroIntegrator 2 and Focus machines, HeartMath training and nutrigenomic analysis using the Opus23 software platform.
