THE INITIAL Functional medicine CONSULTATION IS DIVIDED INTO 3 PARTS: 

  1. The Initial Consultation Part I is a 3-5 hour visit entailing a detailed history, physical exam, and setting up of laboratory testing. In preparation for this, patients fill out extensive medical questionnaires and forms electronically online at HIPAA secure sites (Living Matrix and Cer.bo/MD-HQ). These forms must be completed at least 7 days before an appointment.

  2. For the second part, patients complete their laboratory testing which may include submitting blood, urine, stool, and saliva samples.

  3. Patients return for the Initial Consultation Part II after all the laboratory results are received and reviewed by Dr. Cantor-Adkins. During this 2-3 hour consultation, a detailed and personalized plan for diet, lifestyle and nutraceutical supplementation is developed together. Referrals for nutritionist support and health coaching are made.
